Christmas tree
When I first saw this little Christmas tree on the Christmas market, I already thought about making it myself. I think it is just such a great idea to make little Christmas trees out of sticks. So, having bought one of it as a sample, I started searching for sticks in the forest that could fit such a tree and we created Christmas trees ourselves. They are really nice and also personal presents for people you like.
How to make them:
What you need:
- some stocks, as straight as possible (I took some of a hazel tree, because they are straight and have a nice bark)
- a piece of wood which can serve as a pillar for the tree
- a piece of really hard wire, about 20cm long
- some pieces of decoration, like stars or moss
Difficulty: ♥♥
1) At first, you have to cut the stocks in pieces of different length. The length of the longest piece and also the number of pieces depend on the size of tree you want to achieve. For the large tree, I started with 15cm and then reduced the length until about 1.5cm. So, I cut eleven pieces, but you can vary this number if you like.
2) Second, you have to drill little holes into the pieces of stock and also into the pillar. This might be a bit difficult at first, but with the help of a bench vice it is quickly done.
3) Now you can start composing the tree. Put the pillar on the table and stick the wire into the hole you made. Then start sticking the pieces of stock towards it, beginning with the longest one.
4) After having finished this work with all the pieces, you can decorate the tree with a star on the top and maybe a bit of moss and also stars on the pillar.
